Buying and selling websites:
questions and answers.

Am I buying the website from you or directly from the owner?

It depends on the website. Part of the list is made up of projects we built, and part of websites their owners have entrusted to us. Every listing states clearly who is behind it, and the link to the website is always there — you can agree the purchase with us or directly with the owner.

Who sets the price of an established website?

The website’s owner sets the price — we propose it for our own projects, and sellers for theirs. It depends on the website’s age, traffic, revenue and the effort put into the design and content, so it is agreed separately for each website.

Are good Google rankings a condition for buying?

They are not a condition, but they are a big advantage. A website with good rankings already brings people in without extra advertising, which raises both its price and its value to the next owner.

What exactly do I get when I buy an established website?

The website with its design, content and the history it already has online, plus the domain, hosting, database or even the whole business — everything has to be stated clearly in the seller’s offer.

Can I buy just the website, without the rest of the business?

Yes. Selling an established website can mean just the web project, or the website together with the business behind it — the brand, equipment, clients. Both models are possible; they are simply stated clearly in the offer.

Who maintains the website after the purchase?

It depends on who has been running it so far. For our projects we are happy to carry on the maintenance, while with other owners’ websites that role usually stays with their current team. Either way, you can take the website over yourself if you want to run it entirely on your own.

Can I change the design, text and images after the purchase?

Of course — after the purchase the website is yours. You agree changes to the content, colours and photos with the team that runs the website from then on — sometimes that is us, sometimes the website’s original developer.

How quickly does the website start working for me?

The website is already online, so most of the time goes into the agreed changes and transferring data. Small changes, like the phone number or email, can be done in a couple of minutes; bigger changes and the domain transfer have their own timeline.

What happens to the domain when I buy a website?

The domain is transferred to you, because it is part of buying the website. A website without its domain loses its rankings, history and visitors. The domain can stay where it is or move to another provider of your choice.

How do I sell my website on Prodaja sajtova?

Send us the link with the message “I’m selling a website”, a short description and, if you have one, your asking price. We review the project, agree the details and add it to the listings — free of charge, with no extra costs for you.

How much does it cost to list a website on Prodaja sajtova?

Listing is free. There are no extra costs for sellers: you set the price, and we review the website, prepare the listing and present it to buyers.

Does my website need a perfect design to be listed?

It does not have to be perfect, but it does have to be tidy and working — the content must display properly and the basic links must work. If something sticks out, sort it out with your developer first, then get in touch.

Can I sell the business too, not just the website?

Yes. If there is a more serious business behind the website — a brand, clients, revenue — you can offer all of it together with the website. Just describe in detail everything that is included in the sale.

Are all the websites on the list really live?

Yes, that is our basic condition for every listing — the website has to be online and open for review before it goes on the list. We do not publish templates or unfinished projects.

What if I do not like any of the websites on the list?

Tell us what you are looking for — your line of business, budget, preferred style. We can suggest a similar project that is about to be listed, or point you towards having a completely new website built.

Can I get a free website for my business?

You can, through the Website Host programme. We build a website for your business with no cost for the build or maintenance; the website and domain stay ours, and you use it until it gets a new owner. After a successful run we are happy to build you a new one.

How do I contact you if I have another question?

Email us or call — both work equally well. We reply the same working day, and for anything more urgent feel free to call directly.
